The brainchild of Lance Armstrong, Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop opened in 2008 in downtown Austin\u2019s historic warehouse district. From day one we’ve served as a riders’ destination and a place of social gathering. The shop\u2019s urban setting, near the epicenter of Austin\u2019s burgeoning bicycle lane network, adjacent to the Shoal Creek trail and near Butler Trail along Lady Bird Lake, is based on our commitment to and belief in cycling as viable transportation, as well as riding for fun and fitness.<\/p>\n

Our in-house caf\u00e9, Juan Pelota<\/a><\/strong>,is a social hub for riders, downtown residents, and those that work in our neighborhood. Serving coffee, smoothies, snacks, wine and beer, including our own Mellow Johnny American Lager done in collaboration with Hi Sign Brewing, Juan Pelota\u2019s patio and indoor space is welcoming to all\u2014cyclists or those just looking for a friendly neighborhood caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n

To further cycling’s growth in Austin we support local groups and initiatives that increase local ridership. Be it Bike Austin<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s push for new cycling infrastructure, sponsoring Austin\u2019s oldest cycling club Violet Crown, or partnering with ATX Sirens, a local women\u2019s race team, working with like-minded groups that spread the joy of cycling is part of who we are.<\/p>\n

We want to be your bike shop. With gear for every type of rider, from kids just getting started to experienced cyclists of all stripes, our entire inventory was curated with one goal: to make you love riding your bike. And our award-winning service department is committed to keeping you rolling\u2014with most repair work done in 24 hours. From bike purchase to next bike adventure, we’ll make sure you have what you need to make the most of it.<\/p>\n

Our second location in Fort Worth, Texas, opened in October 2015. When the good people from CASSCO introduced us to the Trailhead at Clearfork, we knew it was going to be a truly unique Fort Worth experience. Much like our World Headquarters in Austin, our Trailhead location<\/a><\/strong> is a destination for the greater cycling community.
